Centerpieces

From the first day that we got engaged I knew that I wanted to have pineapples as a focus point for our wedding - so why not include them in our centerpieces.  I saw that SEVERAL knotties have also used this idea - and I absolutely LOVE it!!  So here are some of my inspirations!!  I can't wait to see what it will actually turn out to look like!

Lighting

Lighting is one of the details that I think is sooo much fun!!!  And I definitely think it will make our venue that much greater!!  So because of that I have a TON of lighting ideas!!

Mosaic Votives

I decided that our centerpieces weren't going to be enough.  I liked the little tea candle votives, but they weren't flashy enough for me.  So I decided to DIY mosaic votives.  This is probably not the right term for them, but thats what I call it.  I got my mosiac tiles from Mosaic Tile Mania (http://www.mosaictilemania.com).  This is my first attempt.  I will definitely use a different color grout and probably try to get the tiles closer together.  But so far... I love it!!  Each table will have at least four votives on them.  Green and Yellow!  The green one is completely finished!!  I won't use this one though, because I don't like the white grout.  The yellow one just needs to be grouted!!

Guest Book

We decided on a very non-traditional guest book!!  My FI and I have both fallen in love with Clark Littles photography!!  He is absolutely incredibel!!  He is having a book come out with his images this month.  We will use that as our "guest book" and ask our guests to leave us a note on one of the pages (not on the image) that they enjoy the most!!  You can check out his work at http://www.clarklittlephotography.com/

Our Wedding Details

Here is how everything turned out and looked the day of the wedding

In Memory Table

Picture
We used pictures of our grandparents who have passed away on our in memory table

Pineapple Vases

Picture
My MIL made these for the centerpieces for the rehearsal dinner.  She hollowed out the pineapple and used it as a vase.  They stayed so nice that we put them around the reception the next day at the wedding

Homemade signs

Picture
We made lots of sings for our wedding.  I fell in love with many of the ones on ETSY but couldn't actually come to terms with spending $$ on it.  So we went to Michaels and bought the wooden arrows and signs, and then used some crackle paint to get the desired results.  I loved them!!  They added such a nice element.  Here they all are!!

The Ring Orb

Our pastor recommended that we use this as a way to pass around our rings during the first part of our ceremony. When our guests were passed the rings, they could use that time as a moment to say a prayer for our marriage.  It was a very cool part of the ceremony.  I bought this from Palomas Nest on Etsy

Escort Cards/Tables/Centerpieces

Dustin and I love DIsneyland.  In fact, that is where we got engaged.  So we used this as part of our table assignments/escort cards.  We hate using numbers, because we don't want anyone to feel as though they were at the last table.  So we put our table in the middle with all the tables surrounding us, and we named each table after a ride at Disneyland.  On the tables were pineapples, the votives that I made, star fish, a menu, and a picture or two of us on that ride in Disneyland.  Our favor for each guest was a pair of chopsticks with our names engraved on them, and tied to the chopsticks was a photoshare card asking each guest to share their photos with us once they returned home. The chopsticks were really affordable and I purchased them online at http://www.laserimageworks.com.  I was really happy with the way that the tables turned out.

Guest Book

You can read the text to see why we chose this as our guest book.  The very cool thing is that the majority of Clark Little's pictures were shot at Ke Iki Beach, and we didn't really know that before deciding on this. Another cool thing was that our second shooter was very good friends with Clark Little.

Garter

Dustin and I are both big college football fans, and very loyal to our alma matters.  He went to Oregon State and I went to Arizona State University.  So I got two garters, one for each of our school.  The ASU garter was just a little bit farther up my thigh (I.e. closer to my heart)  And that is the one that remained on all evening  ;)  Notice the second picture with four of my bridesmaids that also went to ASU -- throwing up the pitchforks!!  GO DEVILS!!

I purchased these at http://www.gartersbykristi.com/
